Installing & Enabling Fax Services on Windows Server 2003
To check whether Fax Services is installed on Windows Server 2003 and to install it if it is not, perform the following steps
| 1. | Open the Windows Control Panel from the start menu, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and then click on the Windows Components tab to launch and display the Windows components wizard. |
| 2. | If the Fax Services checkbox is selected it means the service is already installed and you can thus skip the rest of this section. If it is not, then click on Fax Services, as shown below. |
3. Click Next in the Windows Components Wizard window to start installing the Fax Services.
4. When the installation of the Fax Services is complete, you need to click Finish in the Windows Components Wizard. The Fax Services is now installed.
5. After installation of Fax Services is complete, one need to install local Fax Printer on the target server machine. Open the Windows Control Panel from the start menu, double click on Printers and Faxes.
6. Check if Fax printer is already installed or not, as shown below. If it is not, then from the File Menu click on Install a Local Fax Printer, to install the Fax Printer.
Installing & Enabling Fax Services on Windows XP
To check whether Fax Services is installed on Windows XP and to install it if it is not, perform the following steps.
| 1. | Open the Windows Control Panel from the start menu, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and then click on the Windows Components tab to launch and display the Windows components wizard. |
| 2. | If the Fax Services checkbox is selected it means the service is already installed and you can thus skip the rest of this section. If it is not, then click on Fax Services, as shown below. |
3. Click Next in the Windows Components Wizard window to start installing the Fax Services.
4. When the installation of the Fax Services is complete, you need to click Finish in the Windows Components Wizard. The Fax Services is now installed.
5. After installation of Fax Services is complete, one need to install local Fax Printer on the target server machine. Open the Windows Control Panel from the start menu, double click on Printers and Faxes.
